Core Values
'Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and
sisters of mine, you did it to me.' - Matthew 25:40"
We are a mission church of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida, one that reflects the radical love of God, a place where the wider body of Christ unites with others to serve and make a powerful difference in our community. We believe that serving those experiencing poverty, homelessness, and marginalization is our God-given calling. Since 1997, our mission is to reflect the radical love of Jesus to a broken world.
We are guided by the following core values:
1. Faith in Action
Our faith is the most precious thing we offer. As part of Christ's body, our mission flows from the Gospel and our call to imitate Christ, especially as He revealed his heart for the poor, the rejected, the sinful, and the suffering. We are a loving, prayerful, worshiping community that puts our faith into action.
2. Radical Kinship
We belong to each other. From our donors to our church community, kinship flows throughout Grace Mission. We seek to overcome divisions that separate "us" from "them" by building relationships rooted in mutual respect, creating a place where everyone is known by name and invited to belong.
3. Unconditional Love
Every person is loved by God and precious in His sight. His Grace (undeserved love) is the fundamental strength that underpins all we do.
4. Compassionate Presence
We are committed to walk with our sisters and brothers in need-sharing life, bearing witness to pain, and celebrating resilience and God's gifts. We seek to carry one another's burdens through addiction, grief, hunger, loss, and despair-as we hold out hope, healing, and help.
5. Dignity Over Disposability
Every one of us has inherent worth, regardless of our story. We restore dignity where it has been lost, offering a safe place where everyone is embraced, known by name, and reminded that God loves and cares for them. No one is expendable.
6. Humble Learning and Shared Transformation
Those we serve bless us more. We come to this work to learn, to be transformed, and to grow in love, humility, and grace.
7. Stewardship
We always trust that God goes before us, supplying what we need. Everything given to Grace Mission is used to aid the poor. We partner with people and organizations from our community, and we seek to be good stewards of all our gifts.
