Volunteer Needs

• Adult Literacy Teacher

  Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30.

  There is an immediate need for two individuals to help with a basic literacy program at Grace Mission on Tuesday evenings. There is a coordinator who designs and plans the lessons. Individuals would be teaching basic skills. No teaching background is required.

• Bus Driver

  Sundays, 9:00-1:30

  This person must either have or be willing, with our help, to acquire a CDL-P license. The driver would be asked to drive once a month.

• Nursery Workers

  Sundays 10:00-12:00

  Two individualis are needed to fill in during our college student volunteer vacations: Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Summer. Please call for specific dates.

• On-Call Nursery Volunteers

  Sundays 10:00-12:00

  Volunteers are needed in case regular nursery volunteers call in sick. Volunteers might be called on the same Sunday they are needed.

• On-call Sunday Serving Teams

  Sundays, 9:00-1:00

  These teams would be on call in case a scheduled team could not fulfill its commitment. The on-call team would have a minimum of a week's notice. Teams clean up breakfast, set up, serve, and clean up lunch. The team is also asked to join the 10:30 service.

• Tutors

  Wednesdays and Thursdays 3:30-4:30

  Seven volunteer tutors are needed to replace college student volunteers during Spring Break and summer vacations.

• On-Call Tutors

  Wednesdays and Thursdays 3:30-4:30

  Two volunteers needed to help children with homework or school-assigned projects.

• Kitchen Help

  Tuesdays 5:00-7:00

  Volunteer needed to set up, serve, and clean up after evening meal.

• On-Call Kitchen Help

  Tuesdays 5:00-7:00

  Same description as above.

• Bus Rider

  Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 or 7:30-8:15. Wednesdays and Thursdays 2:30-3:30

  Volunteer needed to accompany children on bus. This volunteer must be at least 18 years old, and may not be related to the bus driver.

• On-Call Bus Rider

  Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 or 7:30-8:15. Wednesdays and Thursdays 2:30-3:30
